BraveRats is a creative quick & light 2 player game for ages 8 and above that takes around 15 minutes to play.
BraveRats, first released as R, is a simple and short simultaneous action selection game for two that’s played with cards. Both players have a hand of eight cards, numbered 0 to 7, with each card having a special power. Both players choose a card, then reveal them simultaneously. The highest card wins the round, and players play until someone has won four rounds. The cards’ special powers greatly influence the game.

The game is pretty fun! Its kinda like Love Letter in that apart from having a higher number, you also need to resolve the “powers” of each of the cards in the text at the bottom. I think its even more strategic than Love Letter because you have all 8 cards to work with instead of just two in hand.
However my qualms are with the packaging of this game. The box is fine, however all the components inside were loose and unprotected, and a lot of the crown tokens in the box were already bent on the tips of the crown. That’s really disappointing for the price that this game costs. A little cardboard sheet that these could be popped out of would’ve solved the issue, or possibly even a little plastic bag like how the tokens come in Love Letter.
Apart from that the quality of the cards and so on are pretty good, even if the power priority guide card is a little too small to read.
